Diaspora
In these photographs I investigate contemporary Ethiopian Diaspora within the United States. My interest in this
subject comes from my own heritage and lack of knowledge of it. My father emigrated from Ethiopia, in the 1980’s.
I am interested in the hybridization of Ethiopian and Western culture, and examining the lines by which tradition
and modernity blend.
